There are so many ideas flying around about who is controlling what, who is behind draconian laws, inhumane mandates, who it is who perpetrates wars and atrocities on innocent peoples...I say it is all of us and our mindsets...what we believe should be, what we believe is possible, what we feel we can do to rectify things, what we believe we can or cannot achieve, what we believe we must obey.
We are indoctrinated from early in life, before we can judge what is true or untrue. Learning is a needed survival tactic with which we are born, and one could say that ‘indoctrination’ is a very necessary process in order to learn how to fit in and co-operate with the society into which we are born. Trouble is, we’ve been indoctrinated, not with beliefs that aid us in becoming responsible members of our society, but rather to obey and not question the powers that be. to obey often really stupid dictates that have no grounding in logic…such as conscription into armies in order to be available to kill people who’ve done you no personal harm. Despite having had our minds bent to the desires of those who rule, most peoples basic desires are to be able to get on with the kind of life they desire, be it a career, building a family, travelling the world, or whatever our desire is…very few of us aspire to go to war, aspire to have bombs dropped on us, nor aspire to drop bombs on others who have done us no harm. It is always at the behest of some leader or the other that we go to war to kill unknown people.
There must be millions upon millions of different imaginings about the shape of peace people desire...all kinds of people, rich, poor, educated, ignorant, black, white, yellow, brown, religious, agnostics, atheists, scientists, philosophers, techies, dustbin men, all coming from different cultures and upbringings...and yet we haven't thought to let peoples imaginations come into the public spaces where they can inspire others to work out what they'd like to see in a peaceful life... In fact, many people feel their ideas would never be entertained. What an amazingly endless font of possibilities one could tap into and utilise, if we gave voice to everyone's inspirations, aspirations and inventiveness.
With the internet we can do that, as long as it isn't censored, and that the ideas proffered are not foisted on everyone (unless of course they desire it). We could solve fractious local problems that disrupt peace, with local solutions, from local voices, with local action. Greater problems can also be tackled with ideas put on the internet and then commented on/discussed/solved/voted on...which would put into existence true democracy. The internet would have to be uncensored, and designed to be un-hackable...I'm sure that with a will to do so, we can achieve that.
The topic of how to achieve any kind of peace is daunting, faced as we are with a seemingly very powerful status quo, but involved in that status are millions of ordinary people who think they need to rely on someone ‘giving’ them a job. Staying alive is a job, the only job we need have, how we tackle that need is based on desire, perception, beliefs; we’ve invested so very much in this existing status quo, and yet it takes so much away from us, tying us down to daily slogs that will not necessarily make us content, put a roof over our heads or the capacity to successfully raise a family, never mind ever helping bring about peace on earth for the many whose lives are disrupted and destroyed by warmongering profiteers.
So where on earth does one start, in order to dismantle or change corporate attitudes that do harm to life, or governmental collusion with big business that cares not about the harm it does, cares only for profit for themselves? People voting for pretty faces and words that mean nothing, how to make these people realise they are voting for two sides of the same coin, no matter whom they vote for, hasn’t time surely made that obvious? Or how to help people with the fear of loosing ones job if one opens ones mouth and speaks out of sync with ones company's direction? How does one encourage individuals to take their lives into their own hands, instead of literally relying on parental type leadership to make our important decisions for us? Allowing governments to go the way they see fit, without asking and informing us, is just that, big daddy knows best, don’t question, obey!.
If I could wave a magic wand which could allow the fear of loss of profit or power to evaporate in the minds of those who've led the way to where we find ourselves these days, if I could instead give them visions of co-operation on issues, be it for the acquisition of mineral resources, or whatever the damaging behaviour has been towards any life forms; to let them see that they have been misled into believing that the manner in which they currently go about the attainment of wealth, satisfaction, safety and happiness doesn't lead to well being...it certainly hasn't done so far. Even the few very richest, living 'far from the madding crowd' do not feel happy unless they have 'security' in the form of more wealth than they can ever use, nor feel physically safe, unless they have alarm systems in their dwellings, and armed guards. Living in that manner is living in fear. I would wave that wand to let them see that by instead applying love, co-operation, compassion, ethics and honesty in their activities, they would feel safe in life; because they will have hurt no one, they will be loved and nurtured in return, just as happens in well balanced extended families and communities, but I haven't yet found a magic wand, so I must imagine other ways of changing peoples perceptions of what is indeed possible if we but imagine it first, like the look of it, find the means and use those means to bring our imaginings into being. One such imagining I didn't personally work out...I read about it somewhere, some time in the 70's, struck me as a very good idea...To make adjustments to factory machinery which produces harmful hardware, e.g. guns, lasers, directed energy weapons, then the machines in those factories could make things useful to life instead of deadly. That way there wouldn't be sudden unemployment to frighten the employed or the politicians, which simply stopping production without a plan B would result in. We could set up think tanks at universities with the remit to investigate which hardware or item of production is needed and helpful to all, and engineering students could have a remit to redesign existing machinery so that useful stuff could be produced instead. We haven't begun to approach our problems in this manner, we have left it up to those looking for profit for themselves to decide in which direction working life should go. I haven't thought out how we could make useful produce quite as profitable as war weapons, but if stuff is needed, pots, pans or prams, there is profit in the making of it, even if the profit is 'only' a living wage. Somehow the aspirations of business owners who need more and more 'profit' than what is needed to live a happy life, needing more in order to satisfy either their egos or fears of lack, will have to be halted, if those aspirations are based on ego or fear of lack. Far wiser would it be for them to aim at decent pay packets for employees, including themselves, who work every day to produce the wealth, rather than allowing oneself to be driven by neurotic needs. Greed, usually manifested by irrational fears, is a very unhealthy motivator with which our society is plagued, and even got used to, led as we've allowed ourselves to be, by mentalities suffering dis-ease from misguided advice received whilst growing up, being taught they have to 'Fight' for everything, and passing that misguidance on generation after generation. Work? Yes! Fight? No! The idiocies perpetrated by ego and fear driven misguided leaders of politics and industry and also the general populations 'smaller' leaders, be they fathers, mothers, teachers, police, local politicians...we have plenty...have done so much harm to our environment and to each other, to our society. Let's look on all this, all we've been through for aeons, as a learning process, and put what we've learned to good use. Time to implement a bit of therapy...Jesus said in The Gospel of Thomas: “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”...let poor driven souls express (bring forth) their unmet childhood needs in ways that do no harm to others. Therapy (the opportunity to 'bring forth') is as much needed by non leaders as it is by leaders. we have all been damaged to some extent by trauma, wars, inadvertently bad parenting, sadistic teachers, cruel peers, lousy jobs, thankless lives, etc., but we can change a lot of that if we so desire, and aim to create a society at peace with itself, a society in which we support each other with ease, because we have our priorities right. No longer wasting our good energies in fighting each other, scrabbling to be on top, which is so detrimental to well being, but also a part of the learning process, not to mention the idiocy of obeying a government who tells you, 'you have to go to war' and kill people you've never met, people who have personally never done you any harm, whilst also running the risk of being killed yourself...How stupid is it to continue to go to war once one realises it has also been part of the learning process?
We need a change of mindset...without such a change, without a greater perception of where we could go, we will keep on going round in circles having apparently learned nothing; we've been going round in circles for thousands of years, otherwise history wouldn't keep repeating itself, would it?
Whether one believes in evolution or not, time has definitely come to 'evolve' beyond where we are now. All of us could do with looking around and seeing what we have all colluded in creating, one way or another, actively or passively. The time has come for each of us to awaken to the fact that it is far too difficult for only a few, passing laws from the top down, to cope well and benignly with the management of life on earth using outdated thinking, as we and our leaders still do. Using policing (people who are willing to arrest people for victimless ‘crimes’) and censorship which disallows change, stops new ideas from flowering; disallows imagination from taking creative flight and stymies ways of effectively adjusting issues that create harm. Top down legislation, doesn't work any longer, we need co-operation, not competition (except in sports!) therefore we need to 'evolve' new ways of thinking that uses knowledge coming from the bottom up...people at street level so to speak, knowing what they want and what's needed at that level, and then co-operating to put those needs into being...that shouldn't be too painful! There are people on the planet who know from personal experience, how to problem solve a great variety of issues.
Let's use the tools we have already invented to bring about a change that will allow life to flourish on earth.
You have to know yourself, trust yourself, and listen to your heart. You know what's right or wrong, good or bad; lets educate our children to think in this manner, to realise that all actions have reactions...knock on effects. Not punish them for doing hurtful damaging things when they are little, just showing them what happens when they do so. This should then teach our children to feel responsibility for what they do later in life, without feeling evil or guilty. Generally they will have learned benignly, to automatically weigh the odds before taking any action once they are adults. That is what taking responsibility for ones life means.
To get this going, let thoughts fly free, take responsibility for all you do and do it with joy in the knowledge that you, together with the rest of like minded people, and we are many, CAN create something very lovely here on earth. Look for what we have in common, not our religions, left/right politics, pre-conceived ideas of what is or isn't possible etc., let's look for what we have in common...the desire for PEACE on earth and the freedom to just get on with our lives.
There are those who think if we have peace, life will be boring, have no challenges, but I'm sure such mentalities, with a little imagination, can find ways of making their own lives as exciting as they desire, and do so without hurting others. Then we can all get on with our lives the way we want.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE....we were apparently given free choice.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT…
“As the sun, who is the eye of the world, cannot be tainted by the defects in
our eyes nor by the objects it looks on, so the one Self, dwelling in all,
cannot be tainted by the evils of the world. For this Self transcends all!”
~Anonymous, The Upanishads.....
The creative energy within all? God is all? God is within?
Words with different meanings to different people. Yet these words all appear to be saying the same thing, that there is an intelligent creative energy and each one of us, and everything else that is around us, is an 'expression' of that same one, creative, intelligent energy. It would seem there is no separation between mankind and the creative energy of which we are comprised which has fashioned itself into our bodies.
"By owning the above verities, we can use this knowledge to clear the dullness sown in our consciousness by our religious dogmas and imagine new ways of expressing ourselves. Accepting that we possess this potential makes it feasible to visualize how we can heal ourselves of our false notions and become aware of the divinity dwelling within us. Achieving True Self-Realization is not as difficult as it may seem or has been made out to be by those who have converted it into profitable enterprises."
~From Separateness to true Self Realisation
Not being a bible reader, just a picker and chooser of what sounds good, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Jesus also apparently said...“As I do, so shall you do, and even greater.” Very Uplifting and, reassuring that we are capable of manifesting circumstances on earth that will bring well being for all life. It appears...
“Our goal is to collectively arrive at True Self-Realization and comprehend that we are the ones creating the conditions we have been undergoing on Earth. This knowledge will open our heart and mind so that we can safely arouse the Kundalini fire and liberate ourselves from the limitations of physical existence, desire and separation. Then, we can celebrate the attainment of freedom and the healing”
“As long as we believe we are sinners, we will not look at our collective experience on the earthly plane as having any significance. We will feel there is nothing honourable about our contributions but look at ourselves as disappointments to our deities. Although we have come to believe there are only a few whom the Gods like to call their sons and daughters, this is a religious invention. In reality, a separation does not exist between us and our True Self since we are the ones evolving it.”
“Realisation that our lives are made up of...' both positive and negative polarities. Recognition of this will enhance our ability to live in harmony by assisting us to reach an equilibrium. If we want to revolutionize our reality, we need to comprehend the forces which are not separate from us but shape our experiences on Earth. To submit to the idea we are sinners in need of supervision by the Gods our religious leaders have invented will do nothing to help us become Self-Realized. Rather, it will reduce us to being weak in consciousness and make us susceptible to manipulation by the ruling elite which has learned how to utilize this knowledge for its own selfish purposes.'
Buddha’s advice that we, “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” By absorbing the significance of these teachings, we will learn it is unwise to accept religious doctrines as gospel without personally distinguishing and deciding what rings true at the core of our being. To be discerning does not mean we become critical, intolerant or lose faith in our fellow men but simply that we direct our attention toward learning the truth.”
~ From Separateness to True Self-Realisation
I have a fanciful mind, and often wonder if what we are experiencing is a dance of possibilities with no real good or evil, simply imbalances and the possibility of balance...Years ago as a teenager, I learned that if one splits an atom, any atom of anything, one gets a release of energy manifesting as light, having not been brought up religiously, but receiving smatterings of Christianity, I adopted the bits I approved of...'do unto others'...etc. because it made sense; then upon learning about atoms, and that when you split an atom you release energy, and it manifests in the form of light...I remembered that the bible says God is within, God is All, God is Light, and I thought...If the Energy in atoms pervades all atoms and therefore all life, rocks, animals air...whatever, then what the bible said about God being All , and Within, and Light, suddenly made perfect sense to me...I thought maybe this 'Energy' that makes up everything is God? It appears to have infinite intelligence, being able to manifest in infinitely wonderous ways. Slowly I came to the conclusion that yes, energy is the creative force, and it is busy manifesting itself in infinitely various ways. The bible says we are made in Gods image...that's one I haven't yet deciphered, maybe it's a bad translation?
I didn't particularly like the word God when I was younger, because it conjured up a vision of an old man up in the sky seeing and knowing all we think, all we do, judging and punishing. My mother used to say “That’s God moving his furniture around”, whenever there was a thunderstorm! Having through my life read many descriptions of other religions, I realised that their 'Holy' men each said much the same things and that dogma had twisted many of their concepts so much so they were almost unrecognisable at street level, so to speak, so I decided that religion was not for me, but yes, spirituality was fine, and I call my God, Infinite Spirit...which I've come to realise is semantics, but it suits me fine and I have no trouble with the word God these days...to continue with where I'm going I'll add two more Jesus sayings..."Ye are as Gods, yet ye know it not' and 'Know Thyself'...Time to find out, isn't it? What are we waiting for? The new 'Saviours', will be ourselves maturing at last into responsible adults. We've done enough damage during our wild teenage years. It really is time to look at the possibility of Heaven on Earth, and if not heaven, then at least doing no more harm to what gives us our sustenance, our life...learning to dance in balance with all that is around us.
“The mind may be said to be of two kinds, pure and impure. Driven by the senses it becomes impure; but with the sense under control, the mind becomes pure. It is the mind that frees us or enslaves. Driven by the sense we become bound; Master of the sense we become free. Those who seek freedom must master their senses.” ~Anonymous, The Upanishads
I need to decide what is meant by ‘our senses’…It sounds to me as if it means our thoughtless, knee jerk reactions to fears. Fear is an ‘emotions’ and also our obvious inclination to want things nice and easy…look how happy the many appear to be with the ‘easiness’ of being able to do everything via ones smart phone. Is that laziness, indolence, thoughtlessness? Are those senses? And what about the ‘sense’ of joy, happiness, excitement, surely we don’t need to get rid of those senses? So maybe sense is not the right translation of that Upanishad statement? What we do need to get rid of is lying to ourselves, avoiding facing what we truly feel.
And then there is this concept…
“During our present stage of transition, many of us are familiar with the experience of waking up to the fact that our life is no longer working the way the finite self has envisioned it should live. This is due to the 4-D shift occurring within us, causing us to feel our current goals are no longer appropriate. As the rate of these influences increase, explanations for the changes happening in our world will be limited, and it will become difficult to predict what the future will hold. Therefore, many of the old ways of planning will no longer be applicable. If we try to cling to our present way of life, we can become confused and feel out of sync with the new, emerging reality. In simple terms, the shift we are undergoing will cause us to recognize we are more than mere humans. The memory of Who we truly are will be stimulated, and we will discover we are multidimensional beings. When we begin to comprehend and assimilate this reality, the lifestyle we have developed under the assumption we are separate will feel wrong. As we attune to the energy around us, we will find ourselves questioning what has previously seemed sensible. We will then realize we must transcend what occupies the consciousness of the masses if we are to survive the 4-D transition. This awareness may dawn on us slowly or by a bolt of lightning striking our tower. Open To Possibilities. Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities—always see them, for they’re always there.” ~Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
This ‘transition into 4-D’ sounds really interesting…Is it that moving as we do through space, we’re entering spheres of different cosmic influences, different energies/vibrations? That will lead us to easier awareness of other dimensions?
“We could become exhilarated by a vision of a world filled with harmony and true community everywhere. We might see, in our mind’s eye, a coming time when everyone on the planet would be safe and have all their needs met. In this future, we would be aware of the heart connection shared with everyone, nature and Mother Earth. Our unique creativity would have complete freedom to be expressed in a supportive, loving environment. The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbour life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”
~Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
“We humans are the ones who must rescue ourselves from our ignorance and erroneous convictions. With each liberating step we take, our view of reality expands, and our intuitive perception increases. We will find ourselves empowered with an inner confidence which can create a lasting source of revelations in our life. To get to this point, we need to ask ourselves: Will the religious path we have been traveling lead us to a place where we can grow spiritually and enter a higher consciousness? Are religions assisting us to master our purpose on Earth? Can we discern whether or not they are helping us make a difference in the world and are contributing to the healing of our belief in separateness? What efforts have they made besides those designed to control our behaviour? The Universe is designed to react to our creative instructions and has always been responsive to our will and input. An illusion of separateness can only endure and dominate our lives when we cling to it. We become who we think we are…
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
~Jesus Christ - Mark 11:23
…we know that we must “...take this opportunity to look at [ourselves], rethink life and death...” and give thought to our present mission on Earth; many forward thinking individuals have realized this. As a result, much energy is available to our spiritual and social pioneers receptive to the need for change. Solutions they are working on are the answers which mankind has been seeking in order to resolve our collective plight. In addition, world events are creating the incentives necessary for working together in the direction of actualizing our healing goals....it is recommended that we come together and focus our efforts on working co-operatively. We can then empower one another by offering alternatives to the separative programming mankind has received. Without this support, what is generated by our dysfunctional societies will force us to accept various aspects of its agreements so that we are not a threat.”
I have to add…
“It is not a sign of good health to be well adjusted to a sick society.” ~J. Krishnamurti
“A critical time for change has arrived for mankind which demands that we focus our energies on returning to the practice of ‘The Seventh Generation Principle".
~From Separateness to Self-Realisation
As practised by some American Indian tribes.
"over aeons of time, Humanity created a building momentum of poverty consciousness. We became deeply entrenched in the discordant thought forms of limitation. We observed the indigence of the outer world and accepted it as our natural state of Being. We forgot that we are cocreators in our Earthly experience. We lost the awareness that the things occurring in our lives are merely a reflection of our thoughts, words, feelings, actions, and beliefs. Instead, we looked at the poverty of the world and tried to justify it by proclaiming it to be, of all things, God’s Will. We felt victimized and tried to outsmart our so-called lot in life. We became conniving and deceitful. We believed that the only way we could have enough was to take things away from others. This attitude became the basis for war, crime, corruption, greed, and selfishness. The momentum of poverty consciousness increased throughout the Ages, and day by day, we methodically sank into our present level of degradation. If we will objectively observe the negative things occurring in the world, we will see that almost every single destructive expression of life is, in some way, reflecting a belief in lack and limitation and the greed and selfishness…” (Fear based)”… that naturally accompany that belief system. This material spiral into oblivion is now coming to an end. It is critical, for the survival of the planet, that we stop our distorted acceptance of poverty and begin clearly and effectively developing a consciousness of prosperity”.
~ Patricia Diane Cota-Robles. Era of Peace.
WITH OUR DESIRES AND ACTIONS WE ARE QUITE CAPABLE OF BRINGING INTO REALITY ANY REALITY WE DESIRE.
We need to ask ourselves, do we like and desire to have continue our present sociatal reality? We have all colluded in creating this, pretty painful at the moment, set of circumstances by being willing to take any 'job' out of fear of lack with no thought as to the ethics of doing so, feeling we have 'no choice'. There is always choice, though sometimes it's a hard one....We have war and strife in so many places...young men agreeing to 'fight' people they've never met, we have fears engendered by the media, whether real or based on desired manipulation of peoples feelings, there are medical procedures that do more harm than good, based as they are on profit, the highest motivator for bringing them into being; pollution of our soils and waters with pesticides and other toxins, again occurring through the desire for profit at any cost to the environment and also out of fear of loss. If each one of us does not take responsibility for what we do in life, this will all continue for quite a lot longer and could well mean we wipe ourselves out together with many other life forms...what a stupid ending that would be, wouldn't it? Far better to gird ones loins and do the necessary work, which will bring so many benefits, we'll wonder why we waited so long.
POSSIBLE
According to some regenerative farmers, some environmentalist, we could easily feed and house our immense world population if we grew foods organically, and stopped practicing mono-culture type farming, because it is depleting the soils of the planet, and also polluting, with its use of synthetic fertilisers fungicides and pesticides. We could incorporated growing food within our cities, we could have avenues for wild life to both exist in and traverse through these cities, we could have cities designed completely differently to present times by having building complexes going upwards...not to skyscraper heights, but in a terraced fashion with appropriate gardens at each level. Inside these tall stepped, roundish structures could be the means for any mass production desired, garages for private transport could also be within, as could shops. Schools and housing on the outside. Local transport could be public if so desired. There is so much scope for positive change, so many untapped imaginings, if we were willing to take responsibility for our own well being, instead of passing the buck to overpaid career politicians, untrained in anything except maybe outdated economic theories, who are ineffectual to our well being, and 99% of whom appear to have no empathy for those they pretend to represent, nor any sense of ethics, nor the courage to stand up against their peers. Time for active, creative, heartfelt, exciting change.
